About Sesame Subscriptions
Build stronger patient relationships and sustainable revenue.
Sesame’s subscription programs give providers an opportunity to offer ongoing, personalized care while generating predictable monthly recurring revenue. Patients who subscribe tend to stay longer, stay healthier, and deliver higher lifetime value for your practice.
How subscriptions work:
When a patient enrolls in one of your Sesame subscription programs, they begin with an initial video visit to establish care, review their goals, and set a treatment plan.
After that, you can manage care in the way that best fits your workflow and clinical judgment:
Offer inclusive follow-up visits for care related to the subscription.
Conduct asynchronous check-ins through Sesame Messaging for ongoing management or refills.
Prescribe one month at a time or several months at once, when clinically appropriate.
Providers are paid monthly, when the patient’s subscription renews.
Subscriptions allow you to deliver consistent, proactive care while giving patients a convenient way to stay connected to you and their treatment plan.

Prescribing for Everyday Rx Patients
Step 1: From the patient’s chart, open ePrescribe and select Everyday Rx.
This will open the prescribing page with the $1 Everyday Rx medication catalog, a curated list of common maintenance medications available for $1 per fill. A green banner will appear across the top:
- Start your search here. Patients and providers can also search the $1 catalog on the Everyday Rx landing page linked here. If a medication doesn’t appear, it isn’t part of the $1 catalog.
- In that case, notify the patient that their medication isn’t included in the $1 catalog and switch to the default catalog using the link at the top of the page.
- A yellow banner will let you know you’re ordering from the default medication catalog. Medications ordered here will be subject to pricing at the patient’s preferred pharmacy:
Step 2: Submit the Prescription
- There will not be an option for you to select the patient’s pharmacy. After submission, we’ll send the patient an email and/or text to select their preferred pharmacy for pickup, or preference for mail orderwhen applicable.
- If you are ordering multiple medications for a patient, and only one or some are in the $1 catalog, they will need to be submitted separately.
For $1 catalog prescriptions:
After submitting, the patient automatically receives an email prompting them to choose how they’d like to fill their prescription. They’ll see three options:
- $1 Next-Day Local Pickup – pickup for $1 at a nearby pharmacy (subsequent refills will ship automatically)
- $1 Mail Order – delivery for $1 (5–7 days)
-
Same-Day Local Pickup – use insurance or pay cash at their preferred pharmacy.
- If a patient selects this option, they will be charged the cash price or insurance-covered price when they pick it up, even if the medication is listed in the $1 catalog.
- Refills will also be sent to their preferred pharmacy.
For default catalog prescriptions:
After submitting, the patient receives a text from Photon prompting them to select their pharmacy. This experience will be the same as when you’ve selected “Send to Patient” for a prescription on a regular visit.
Everyday Rx FAQs:
-
What if my patient has an acute care need?
Everyday Rx is not a primary care subscription. When needed, you can encourage patients to book a separate visit for their acute care needs with an appropriate clinician.
- Note: The Everyday Rx subscription includes $10 off one-time visits (with no impact on provider prices) to help patients address health needs outside of the scope of this service.
-
Does one subscription cover management of multiple conditions?
Yes, patients can manage multiple conditions with multiple medications through one subscription. If a new concern arises that requires a new condition assessment, you may direct the patient to book a separate visit for evaluation at your discretion.
-
How do annual subscriptions work?
The Everyday Rx annual plan lets patients save about $30 per month while giving you 12 months of guaranteed recurring revenue. Payouts are still made monthly over the course of the year, so your cash flow remains steady.
If you opt in at the suggested $24/month (or set your own price), your price for annual subscribers will be automatically set to $5 lower to reflect the patient discount—helping you attract long-term, committed patients while maintaining predictable income.
How to Enroll:
- Notify the Provider Success team at doctors@sesamecare.com - include your desired pricing and initial visit duration (15 or 30 minutes).
