How the Money Works

  • Patients pay up front or on a recurring basis (subscriptions). Visits are cash-pay via credit/debit, HSA, or FSA.
  • Insurance options for patients. If insured, patients receive a superbill to submit to their insurer for potential reimbursement. They can also use their insurance for medications, labs, and imaging—the clinical visit itself is paid up front on Sesame.
  • Transparent payout. You receive the price you set minus the pass-through cost of credit-card processing (currently 3.95%). No hidden platform cuts, no listing fees, no membership fees.
  • Weekly payouts. Payments sent every Monday for visits completed the previous week.
  • Late cancellation protection. No-shows and late cancellations still result in full payment to you.

  1. Create your clinician profile. Then choose which services you want to offer.
  2. Set your prices and availability. Open nights, weekends, early in the AM – your schedule is completely up to you. 
  3. Start seeing patients. Plus, you can opt in to Sesame’s subscription programs to build recurring revenue or focus on fee-for-service visits.

Who Can Join

To practice on Sesame, clinicians must:

  • Hold an active, unrestricted license in at least one U.S. state (all 50 states + D.C. supported)
  • Pass Sesame’s credentialing and licensure history checks
  • Maintain malpractice insurance covering visits conducted on Sesame, with minimum limits of $1 million per incident / $3 million aggregate
  • Meet state practice requirements. If your profession requires a supervising or collaborating physician, you must establish that relationship independently. Sesame does not provide supervisors.
